I grew up with this dish at Chinese New Year gatherins. I tried making it for the first time this year, and it turned out really good!
Ingredients
- 8 oz. best-quality salmon – thinly slice
d - 10 square wonton wrappers -, cut into ½”-thick strips then fried
- 1 small jicama or 1/2 medium one – peeled and julienne
- 1 large cucumber – peeled and julienne
- 2 grapefruit or 1 pomelo – peeled, segmented
- 2-3 carrots – peeled and julienne
- 1 small daikon – peel and julienne
- ½ cup cilantro leaves
- Shredded lettuce
- Peanuts
- Sesame seeds
Dressing
- 1/2cup plum sauce
- 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tsp. Chinese five-spice powder
- 2 tsp. sesame oil
- 4 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp lime juice
Arrange all vegetables and salad components nicely on a serving plate. Right before serving, pour on the dressing, then mix with chopsticks altogether!
